Many of our programs are crafted for the Middle and High School audience. Through a variety of partnerships, DSI also offers a number of programs  specifically designed for grades K-5,  as well as seminars for college students, parents, teacher in-services and corporate retreats.

Is it Worth It?

The majority of young people do not  use drugs. Most non-users are simply too quiet.  Being 100% drug-free himself,  Durand  knows it's not impossible to abstain. And he is not  at all quiet about it. With humor, compassion and insight, he presents  basic drug education; puts peer pressure in perspective;  disproves the “victimless crime”  myth; and illustrates how to maintain, or even re-claim,  an anti-drug existence.

Raising The Bar

It’s An Attitude

The daily dosage of tragedy and trauma is cause for concern.  We have been desensitized by various sensationalistic mediums. Violence has been commandeered and re-packaged as entertainment. This program is an examination of how we got here and how we get back. It is about how we, as individuals, can begin to reverse the tide of apathy.

Mob mentality is running rampant. The LCD (lowest  common denominator) is becoming the norm. Drugs and violence seem socially acceptable. A barrage of sources   purport to inform of us of what is "cool", what is not, what to wear and what to watch. All of this has served to diminish our willingness to think for ourselves.  This presentation  emphasizes analytical evaluation; interrupting  cycles of circular reasoning;  and questioning of the status quo. Only then, do we become effective leaders and mentors.

It’s Elementary

A very energetic, fast paced, heavily interactive 4 part series specifically designed for grades K-5.  Each of the these programs (Make That Choice; The NO Patrol; The Good Character Building; and Got Courage?) delivers messages regarding positive decision making, conflict resolution, drug education, self esteem and combating“bullying” as well as other fundamentals. Music, interactive games and audience participation are utilized to reinforce the lessons and life skills.

Pieces Of Advice

This presentation involves Durand's band and is a full throttled, message rich,  energetic concert.  It utilizes  current popular music and story telling to reiterate the life lessons that are shared throughout the program as simple advice for a great life.  Including how to claim your greatness; letting love lead; honoring your authenticity; and recognizing your purpose, among other topics.  Durand and his band are accomplished performers who have a knack for getting audiences actively invested and participating in the entertainment while they receive the inspiration contained within it.
